Shakhtar Coach can’t wait for Roma test

Shakhtar Donetsk’s Romanian coach Mircea Lucescu is relishing the opportunity of playing Roma in the Champions League. The talented Coach sees it as a natural progression for his team who have had so much success under his leadership.
He told “It all started six years ago, when I took over at Shakhtar. President Rinat Ahmetov asked me to create a team capable of competing internationally. He wanted to win a European title and we managed to do it against Werder Bremen in the UEFA Cup final in Istanbul,”
Lucescu went onto be say that his next goal was to qualify from the Group Stages of the Champions League and this season they have achieved this. He described his project saying that “We decided that we needed to create a nucleus of very skilful players. Football here is a lot more aggressive; more physical and faster. But as they had excellent technical skills, we were able to build the rest. I think that at the moment, Shakhtar are the most Brazilian team in Europe.”
Now they face Roma and Lucescu although aware of the threat his not scared about this saying, “The fans in Rome create a certain pressure on the opponents, but also on their own team. Certainly, what we learned from that last game will help us this time around. I am convinced about that.”
He also gave his opinions on the future saying that “Also the difference in class between football in eastern and western Europe is narrowing. Many talented players have come to the east. The UEFA Cup wins by Galatasaray, CSKA Moskva, Zenit and Shakhtar mean that these countries have greater hope for Champions League success.” Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
