Spalletti aims to take Vargas to Zenit from Fiorentina

Luciano Spalletti is looking to add another Serie A player to his Zenit St. Petersburg team, as he attempts to lure Juan Manuel Vargas from Fiorentina to Russia.
South American daily El Comercio state the 2010 Russian champions have put in an offer of £11m for the 27-year-old. However, it appears Fiorentina are holding out for a higher bid from the former UEFA Cup champions. The two clubs will sit down in the upcoming days to try reach an agreement.
The Peruvian international has played 12 times this season at la Viola under Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic but has endured a series of niggling injuries that has stopped him reaching his best, as Fiorentina sit in 11th position.
Former Roma Coach Spalletti has already signed ex-Torino player Alessandro Rosina and Aleksandar Lukovic from Udinese. A one-time target of Real Madrid and Juventus, Vargas would add versatility to Spalletti’s outfit given his ability to play on the left side of midfield or at left-back. At this stage it is unclear whether the move would see the player move in January or wait until the current campaign is finished in Italy. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
