Speculation mounts on Udinese assets

Following the departure of Cristian Zapata to Villareal this summer, Mehdi Benatia been receiving plaudits for his performances this season for Serie A leaders, Udinese. He has been an integral part of the best defence in the league so far.
It has been reported that there is an interest Benatia coming from Qatari owned outifit PSG and English champions Manchester United. Napoli are also reported to be monitoring the situation with the Moroccan defender but may not be able to match PSG and Manchester United financially.
Speaking to Radio Kiss Kiss, Benatia’s agent Claudio Vagheggi discussed the speculation. “Benatia to PSG? There were negotiations in August but there has been a shortage of interest from their side recently. Napoli? They are interested in him but we are still in early November and the player will focus on playing for Udinese at the moment.”
Following Sampdoria’s rapid downfall from Champions League qualification to relegation to the Serie B, Udinese were under a lot of pressure at the start of this season to prove their capability to compete and the Friuli based outfit have not disappointed. Kwadwo Asamoah another key figure for Udinese over the last two seasons has also reportedly caught the attention of bigger clubs.
According to Radio CRC, Vagheggi suggested: “Asamoah is an important player so it is normal that several clubs, including Napoli, have looked at him.”
Francesco Guidolin will be hoping that he can hold on to these prized talents at least till the end of the season but clubs like PSG could manage to lure the likes of Asamoah and Benatia with heavy paychecks.
