Thiago Motta to start for Italy vs Germany

Thiago Motta will start for Italy against Germany on Wednesday evening as coach Cesare Prandelli confirms his starting eleven for the friendly encounter.
The Brazilian-born midfielder will make his debut after the Italian FA were granted international clearance by FIFA to field the player, that is despite the former Barcelona man having represented the country of his birth at youth level.
Speaking at a press conference, Motta said: “Wearing the Italy shirt gives me a completely different emotion compared to all the rest I have tried in football.
“It will be a great day for me tomorrow and I feel privileged. I was born in Brazil but I feel Italian. I am happy to be here.”

Meanwhile, Prandelli has revealed that Antonio Cassano and Giampaolo Pazzini will link up in attack.
The boss confirmed his team to reporters: “In goal will be Gianluigi Buffon, then Mattia Cassani, Leonardo Bonucci, Andrea Ranocchia and Giorgio Chiellini are in defence.
“Riccardo Montolivo, Thiago Motta and Daniele De Rossi are in midfield. Then Stefano Mauri, Antonio Cassano and Giampaolo Pazzini are in attack.
“I expect a difficult game, but I don’t fear a collapse from the team,”
