Roma captain Francesco Totti will not play the derby match with Lazio and will pay a fine of 20.000 euros. This is the decision taken by the Sport Judge after the sending off of the forward in the match against Lecce, and his subsequent attempt to attack Ruben Olivera while on his way to the changing room.
According to the Corriere dello Sport, Totti will not play “the most important match, the one that gives me great emotions every time” as he said. He will play in the Champions League match against Basel, but he will serve a one match ban in Serie A.
For the second time this season, Totti will be out suspended, but as he stated “Being out during the Derby is for me very difficult, I believe I didn’t deserve such a punishment.”
