Udinese enquire about Poulsen

Udinese have made Liverpool aware of their interest in signing their out-of-favour Danish midfielder Christian Poulsen at the end of the season, according to the Daily Star.
Liverpool’s former boss Roy Hodgson splashed £4.5 million when he bought Poulsen from Sevilla last summer, but the Dane has struggled to adapt to the Premier League.
The Reds’ fans have turned on him during the course of a disappointing season and he seems likely to move on in the summer. He has since lost his place in the team after new coach Kenny Daglish took over from Hodgson.
Poulsen has refused to confirm that he will leave, though, saying: “You never know in football. My family are really happy here and I am really happy.
“I’ve signed for three years, but let’s see after this season. It depends on a lot of things, but I’m happy to be here and happy at the club.”

Udinese will try and tempt Liverpool with a bid in order to bring the 31-year-old back to Italy, where he previously played two seasons for Juventus.
If Gokhan Inler is sold by Udinese in the summer, a central midfielder will be a priority and Poulsen has been earmarked as a potential replacement.
Udinese admitted earlier this week that either Inler or Alexis Sanchez will be sold to a big-money bid, and Poulsen could therefore arrive at the club as a cheaper alternative.
