Udinese’s Zapata hasn’t heard from Man City

Manchester City haven’t contacted Udinese about buying Cristian Zapata, according to the player’s agent.
Zapata has been linked with a move to a bigger club for some time now, and it seemed possible that former Inter boss Roberto Mancini would take him to City. However, the Colombian defender’s agent has denied the speculation.
Massimo Italiani told Sky Sports: “I have read about City, but there has been no contact from anyone. However, I am not surprised he is linked with big clubs. Cristian likes the Premier League and he has always dreamed of playing there.
“Maybe he could go there in future. You never know what can happen in the market. The market is strange and I don’t exclude anything but I think Udinese don’t want to let him go in January.”

City boss Mancini has previously returned to Italy to raid Serie A for Patrick Vieira, Aleksandar Kolarov and Mario Balotelli, and it remains to be seen whether 24-year-old Zapata will be the next on that list.
