Van Bommel confirms interest from Milan

Mark Van Bommel has confirmed in an interview that Milan are among the many clubs interested in signing him from Bayern Munich. The 33-year old’s contract runs out in the summer and is unlikely to be renewed by Bayern.
This has led him to approach Mino Raiola, the agent of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Mario Balotelli, to seek a new club. Raiola mentioned that there was some interest from Italy to sign Van Bommel and the player reaffirmed it whilst speaking with Radio 538.
“I’ve read some of the rumours about me leaving Bayern Munich. They’re right when they write that there’s some interest, but nothing’s serious at the moment,” Van Bommel told the station.
“Milan have also shown an interest in signing me. We are currently in talks with them. I don’t really start thinking about it though until the interest gets really serious.
“I haven’t spoken to any clubs yet, but I will definitely consider a move. I can switch clubs now or in the summer. Everything’s possible.”

It is believed that the Rossoneri may try to bolster their midfield after injuries left them fielding their youth-team players in the last two games. Andrea Pirlo and Mathieu Flamini are both in the infirmary at the moment.
Yesterday however, Milan CEO Adriano Galliani declined that the club were interested in signing the Dutch international sighting his age as a problem. He did leave room open to more moves in the market though.
“He is an important player, but his age is such that we aren’t thinking about it, no. The market is open until January 31, so we’ll see what happens.” Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
