Arturo Vidal has revealed that he is close to securing a transfer to Juventus from Bayer Leverkusen. The Chile international delayed a decision on his future until after his country’s participation in the Copa America.
He is, however, now in a position where he can finally decide, and has chosen to cut his teeth in Serie A. The 24-year-old is now on his way to Turin to discuss personal terms and undergo a medical and explains that he cannot wait to begin his Juve career.
“I’m happy, it’s a big and important step for my career at one of the biggest clubs in Europe,” Vidal told the Chilean press.
“I’m very content about this new opportunity that I’m being given. It’s a new team which is being built with the aim of being champions and qualifying for international competitions.”
The club’s general manager Rudi Voller told Tuttosport: “We are in touch with the authorities of Juventus and we are close to sealing a deal.”
Leverkusen have been reluctant to part with their midfielder all summer and are thought to be demanding around £10 million for their player.
