West Ham want to keep Inter’s Obinna

West Ham United are keen to strike a deal with Inter to keep on-loan striker Victor Obinna, according to the Daily Star.
Obinna has seen his chances of breaking into Inter’s team fade, and joined the Premier League outfit on a season-long loan in the summer. The Nigerian international has impressed, and it seems West Ham want to keep him in England on a permanent contract.
The club’s owner David Gold said: “We don’t have an option to buy Victor at the end of his loan deal, but we have spoken to Inter and we do have an understanding with them.
“We have been impressed with Victor. Hopefully we can do some business because he is a player we want to keep. Of course, that would depend on which league we are playing in next season, but we are confident we can get out of the position we are in.”

Obinna, 23, first moved to Italy in 2005 when Chievo gave him his first professional deal. Inter immediately recognised his potential and co-owned him, before the player moved to the San Siro in 2008. However, Obinna has never truly made his mark with the European champions and it seems he could be offloaded to West Ham in the future.
