West Ham’s Behrami close to €5m Fiorentina move

Fiorentina’s pursuit of Valon Behrami could be coming to a successful close as they have reportedly agreed a €5m fee with West Ham United for his services.
Behrami has made it clear all season that he favours a return to Italy, and West Ham have always been willing to facilitate his move because they need the money. However, first Roma and subsequently Fiorentina have been unable to agree a suitable transfer fee with West Ham, but this now seems to have been resolved.
Roma first made a move for the Swiss international but UniCredit, the bank that owns the club, refused to allow them permission to make a signing before they sold some players. Fiorentina then stepped in and Behrami had travelled to Florence for talks but nothing had been agreed.
Finally it seems the saga is coming to an end, as Behrami is currently in Florence for a second time in talks over his personal terms. West Ham have signed Gary O’Neil, a like-for-like replacement for Behrami, meaning the 25-year-old should join the Viola by the end of the transfer window.
