Zanetti: “I want to thank everyone”

Inter captain Javier Zanetti became a part of an exclusive club by making his 1,000th appearance against Roma in the Coppa Italia semi-finals.
He is only the 10th player to do so at the top level and ‘Il Trattore’ took the opportunity to thank all the people involved with his career and also made a few personal dedications.
“It was a moving evening. I thank everyone, starting with my wife Paula and my children who were in the stands. Tonight’s match was important in every sense, and for that I can really celebrate.”
The evening ended on a good note for the Argentine as his team drew 1-1 with the Giallorossi which booked Inter’s appearance in the Coppa Italia final against Palermo.
“It was a difficult match, as they always are against Roma, a team with players who can change the game. But we did very well to manage the match.”
The Coppa Italia final now represents Inter’s only chance for silverware, after the team lost the title to Milan last weekend. But, Zanetti feels that on the whole, it has been another successful outing for the Nerazzurri.
“It’s been quite positive; we started by winning the Italian Super Cup, continued by winning the Club World Cup, and now finishing with the Coppa Italia would really be beautiful.”
Inter’s qualification to the Cup final also meant that Palermo are assured of a place in the Europa League for next season, thus taking the place away from the seventh placed Serie A side. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
