Zapata close to Liverpool switch

Udinese defender Cristian Zapata has revealed to the newspaper El Pais he is close to a move to Liverpool.
The Colombian international is currently preparing for the forthcoming Copa America and says his final decision will be made after the tournament is completed.
Zapata told the newspaper: “I still know that nothing is certain, but it is true that at this time I am very close to Liverpool. I will wait until the end of the Copa America, like many of my teammates, to decide my future.”
Zapata has been a regular fixture in the Udinese side since his debut in 2005 and last season he played 35 times for Francesco Guidolin’s side, scoring twice.
He said his time at the Zebrette has been valuable but it is time to move on: “I have gained experience, but the time has come for me to make the jump to a big team.”
Zapata is not the only Bianconero to have piqued the interest of the top clubs as his team-mate Alexis Sanchez is the subject of a bidding war between several of Europe’s biggest clubs including reigning champions Barcelona. Welcome Bonus Offer Betway
