Zarate fluffs his lines then faces wrath of Reja

Lazio striker Mauro Zarate faces a severe reprimand from coach Edy Reja after he was substituted in Wednesday evening’s defeat in Cesena the Corriere Dello Sport reports.
After being replaced by Alvaro Gonzalez 20 minutes from the end of the match at the Stadio Dino Manuzzi, the Argentine striker stormed off down the tunnel to the dressing room.
After the game, Reja explained his thoughts behind making the change: “I saw that Zarate was holding onto the ball too long and was failing to bring in the players around him such as (Mark) Bresciano and (Pasquale) Foggia. He gave away possession too many times so I had to make a change”. Zarate was incensed at being omitted from the starting XI in last Sunday’s derby and this latest act of petulance could mean the 23-year-old spends more time on the bench over the coming weeks.
