Lazio striker Mauro Zarate has told the Argentinean daily newspaper “Olè” that he believes his current employers can qualify for next season’s Champions League. The 23-year-old stated that: “our idea is to finish in a Champions League position”. The Biancocelesti have had a wonderful start to the new campaign and currently sit second in the Serie A standings just three points behind leaders Milan.
Zarate then explained that his relationship with coach Edy Reja is now fine after a show of petulance in the 1-0 defeat to Cesena lead to the a clear the air meeting with his boss: “the problems I had with the coach started in the second-half of last season and the beginning of this campaign when I only played in nine games and spent a lot of time on the bench. When I did come on, I was being played out of position and I got angry. Now I play out on the right and we have discovered my preferred role and everything is ok”.
