Zenga: “This weekend I will be a fan of Sicily”

As Sicily gears up for its first derby of the season between Palermo and Catania, former coach of both sides, Walter Zenga, has been telling the Corriere Dello Sport of his love for the island.
Asked about which team he would be supporting on Sunday, the former Italian international goalkeeper replied: “I will be a fan of Sicily, it is my second skin and has become a symbol of my life not only for football”. The man known as “the spider” during his playing career then gave his views on Argentine superstar and Palermo midfielder Javier Pastore: “he is a true champion of world football and is able to change a match within five minutes”.
He then singled out special praise for one of his old Catania squad members: “Matias Silvestre is like a pneumatic drill, he is always training, even on his day off”. He concluded the interview by replying to a question about his biggest satisfaction from coaching on the island: “without doubt, it was when Marcelo Lippi called Marco Biaganti and Giuseppe Mascara into the Italian national side”.
