Zenit interested in Genoa’s Criscito

Genoa left-back Domenico Criscito has become an object of great interest for Russian champions Zenit St. Petersburg, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Zenit, coached by ex-Roma boss Luciano Spalletti, won the championship just a couple of weeks ago and are now in their close-season. Criscito is reportedly high on their list of possible recruits for the new Russian season.
The Italian contingent at Zenit includes midfielder Alessandro Rosina as well as Spalletti, and the coach has been scouring Serie A for new signings once again. Signing Criscito would be seen as quite a coup.
The 23-year-old was Italy’s first-choice left-back during the World Cup and has continued to impress this season. Whether he would jeopardise his international future by playing in another country remains to be seen.
